Farington Road near Dunbrook Drive was closed for about fours hours while the Durham police investigated a fatal car accident early Monday morning.
Osiel Valencia Rosales, 33, of Chapel Hill was killed when her car careened off the road, crashing into a tree around 4:45 a.m. Authorities believe speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash, as Ms. Rosales was heading south in the 6300 block of Farrington Road.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Ms. Rosales may have overcorrected her 2005 Honda Accord, causing her to run off the left side of the road and into a tree.
Norma Lorena Telles, 38, also of Chapel Hill was a passenger in the vehicle. Following the crash, Ms. Telles was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
