When you think of North Carolina suburbs, Apex, North Carolina may not be the first town that pops into your head. Located just south west of Cary, Apex offers the perks of living in a small town while also providing a lot of luxuries that are enjoyed by those living closer to downtown. Apex is about a twenty five minute drive from downtown Raleigh and offers a plethora of dining and shopping options.

What Makes Apex, North Carolina a Great Place to Live?

In today’s age there is a draw toward living in semi-rural towns where you are not in the middle of nowhere but you are also not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of a major metropolitan area. There is something refreshing about being able to leave your house or apartment and not have to fight traffic to get to a grocery store. Although Apex is located at the edge of Wake County, there are a number of big box stores and even a wholesaler.

In addition to great shopping opportunities and restaurants, there are also a number of high quality health care providers in any field you would need. Being close to Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill means you are very close to some of the best medical care in the country while still getting to enjoy a rural lifestyle. Basically what makes Apex such a great place to live is the ability to enjoy most of the luxuries of a busy area, without the busyness.

If you are considering moving to Apex, North Carolina, you should ask yourself this important question…

Do you enjoy a rural, laid back, lifestyle? Apex is by no means a metropolis. If anything it is a small town. The proximity to Raleigh and Chapel Hill keep you from feeling isolated but there is a lot of undeveloped areas in Apex and if you have never lived outside of a big city setting before, Apex will certainly feel different. Apex will definitely continue to grow as the Raleigh Durham area expands, but for the foreseeable future, Apex will remain a rural suburb of Raleigh.

If you enjoy the hustle and bustle and feeling like you are a part of a big city you may want to consider moving closer to the heart of Raleigh. Cary may be a better option if you are looking for a more developed town. Cary is located between Apex and Raleigh and sort of gives its residents the best of both worlds.
