Mary Alice Baker Strickland went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 30, 2012, surrounded by family.
A service celebrating her life and homegoing was held on Tuesday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1801 Bud-Lipscomb Road, Willow Spring. A private family burial was held at Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church.
Mary Alice worked for Smith Studios as a bookkeeper before she began her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church for over 40 years where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.
She is survived by her husband Charles, daughter Joy Daubenspeck and husband Phil, son David Strickland and wife Dana, grandsons Jacob and Kyle Daubenspeck, and granddaughters, Abigail and Lindsey Strickland.
She was preceded in death by her parents Reamus and Foy Baker, brother David Lee Baker, infant daughter Virginia Grace Strickland, and infant grandchildren Sara, Olivia, and Connor Daubenspeck.
The family would like to thank the staff of Windsor Point Skilled Nursing Unit for her care during the last few weeks and to Hospice of Wake County for their compassion and expertise.
