Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Stewart Keith, of Lillington died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center of Lillington. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Kennie Patterson and Nannie McAuley Stewart.
Lib was preceded in death by her husband Furman Bryant Keith, Sr. She was an active member of Neill’s Creek Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, worked with the children’s ministry and in many other areas within the church. Lib was self employed as a hairdresser until her retirement in 1996.
Memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, at Neill’s Creek Baptist Church, Angier with Rev. Chris Turner and Rev. Jeff Roberts officiating. Inurnment was in Westview Memorial Gardens, Lillington. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Neill’s Creek Baptist Church, other times at her home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Neill’s Creek Baptist Church, 4200 Neill’s Creek Road, Angier, NC 27501 or to E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center, 185 Pine State Street, Lillington, NC 27546.
Mrs. Keith is survived by her daughter, Angela K. Mackie-Jones and husband Sam of Asheboro; son, Furman B. Keith, Jr. and wife Teresa of Lillington; sister, Lespie Smith of Sanford;four grandchildren, Daniel Mackie and wife Heather, Leslie Mackie, Jordan Keith, and Austin Keith; several nieces and nephews.
