Members of the Downtown Fuquay-Varina Rotary Club joined the Interact Club during the induction. They were Rotarians Thomas Ray, Marguerite Greene, President-Elect, Janet Rommel, Assistant District Governor; Interact liaisons: Abbey Gurkin and John Trawick. Representing the Fuquay-Varina Rotary, Charlie Adcock, Mayor Pro Tempore and faculty advisors from Fuquay-Varina High School, Michael Rowland and Merry Noyes.
Interact is the youth arm of Rotary and Rotary International. The Fuquay-Varina High School’s Rotary Interact Club is a very hard working, helpful, dedicated, and fun loving set of high school students that are committed to serving the community. They organize and run planned activities under the mentorship of the Downtown Fuquay-Varina Rotary Club.
Their next fund raising event is the “Mardi Gras Dance” which takes place Friday, Feb. 1 at the STARS Theater & Arts Center from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $5 with and the proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Home of North Carolina.
The Rotary Interact Club also provides support to several community events throughout the year and is a tremendous help to both the Fuquay-Varina Chamber and Downtown Revitalization Association.
