Fuquay-Varina - Martha Albritton Morton, 88, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 surrounded by loving family. She leaves behind sons, Robert L. Morton of Raleigh, John E. Morton and wife Jennifer of Willow Spring, and Grace Morton Murray and her husband Paul of Montague, MA. Martha also is survived by her grandchildren Karen Atkins, John Dill, Elizabeth Dill and Tyler Morton, her grand dog “Spike”, and friends and family that include Roy and Doris Morton, Garfield Bryant, Linwood and Ann Eakes, Walter and Grace Whitt, and especially her traveling buddy, Mary Davis.

Martha was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Fred E. Morton, son Freddie, daughter Cindy, and her parents Robert and Alease Albritton.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, 401 N.Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina. Burial will follow at Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, July 29 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of John and Jennifer Morton, 919 Blue Garden Lane, Willow Spring.

The family is extremely grateful to the staff at Wake Medical Center, Cary, and the Hospice Home of Wake County for their compassion and care.
