On July 13, the event was co-hosted by the Fuquay-Varina Economic Development Commission and the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce. This was the first time that the event was held outside of Fayetteville and was touted as a huge success. The event was attended by more than 50 defense and local industry representatives. The Prime contractor for the event was USfalcon. USfalcon is headquartered in Morrisville and is one of the Triangle’s largest defense contractors.
Joy Thrash, Executive Director of the North Carolina Defense Business Association had this to say about the first remote event, “The Breakfast with a Prime event hosted by USfalcon and held in Fuquay-Varina was a true example of how organizations can come together for a common goal of building the defense industry in North Carolina. The successful partnering of the Fuquay-Varina Economic Development, Fuquay Chamber of Commerce and the North Carolina Defense Business Association brought together companies from across the state that are working in the defense industry. These companies take it to heart that they are providing products and services that support the military and help the men and women who protect our country. The Breakfast with a Prime events are networking at its best!”
Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce Executive Tommy Broadwell was also extremely happy with the networking aspect of the event. “The Prime Breakfast was a golden opportunity to invite people in the defense industry in the surrounding area to showcase Fuquay-Varina.”
James Sauls, Director of Fuquay-Varina Economic Development, said “This event is very important to our community and the region because is showcases our defense industry. Fuquay-Varina is perfectly positioned to recruit defense and federal contactors due to the Town’s close proximity to the military bases and the research universities in the Triangle.”
