Members of the public will be able to share with the executive search firm of Heidrick & Struggles what they think are important traits to consider for selecting the next Wake County Public School System Superintendent at two forums.

The first forum will be held on Tuesday, July 13, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The second takes place on Wednesday, July 14, from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Both meetings will be held in the Board Room of the Wake County Public School System's Central Services Offices at 3600 Wake Forest Road.

"We want to provide an opportunity for members of the general public to participate in a dialogue regarding the qualities and qualifications they believe are necessary to have in our next Superintendent," said Debra Goldman, Chair of the Superintendent Selection Committee. "It's important that we gather a variety of points of view as we develop the criteria we will use in selecting the next Superintendent of our school system," she said.

The meetings will be facilitated by the executive search firm selected by the Wake County Board of Education to conduct the search for the new permanent Superintendent. Information collected in these sessions will be considered along with input from a variety of meetings being held with community stakeholder groups in developing the criteria for the nomination of a candidate who will be presented to the Board of Education.
