On June 16 at 12:04 a.m., the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office responded to 4742 NC 27 W. Lillington after receiving reports of a shooting.

On arrival, Deputies located one victim deceased, Glen Shonta Elliott, age 29, of Fuquay-Varina and a second victim, Anthony Ryan Elliott, age 29, of 4742 NC 27 W., Lillington. Both victims' injuries were a result of a gunshot wounds.

The investigation has revealed that there was an altercation between the victims and a third person at the intersection of NC 27 W. and Spring Hill Church Road in a parking lot.

During the incident, the victims were shot. Anthony Elliott drove to his residence to seek help.

Anthony Elliott was transported by Boone Trail Emergency Services to Betsy Johnson Hospital where he was treated and released.

There was cocaine and marijuana located at the location of the shooting and at the residence of Anthony Elliott.

The altercation appears to be the result of dispute during a drug transaction.

On June 16 at 3 p.m., Daniel Wayne Dority, age 37, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Murder and Attempted 1st Degree Murder.
