Wayne Deuell Fryar, 71, a retired employee of the Department of Corrections, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010. A native of Sampson County, he was the son of the late Evelyn Blanton and Vance Fryar of Clinton. He loved his family, friends, music and fishing. Funeral Service were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15 at Bryan-Lee Chapel in Garner. The family received friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Burial followed at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Clayton. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Faye Edwards; daughter, Arliss Fryar Ferrell and her husband, Mel of Zebulon; son, Alan Fryar and his wife, Emily of Wadsworth, Ohio; sister, Joan Justice of Clinton; special sister-in-law, Wanda Edwards of the home; grandchildren, Amber and Crystal Ferrell of Zebulon and Morgan and Colin Fryar of Ohio. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Wake Co and the staff of Duke Raleigh Hospital for their care and compassion during his illness.
