Carillon Assisted Living opening in May

The sprawling new Carillon Assisted Living facility along Johnson Pond Road in Fuquay-Varina – one of the largest providers for assisted living services in the State of North Carolina — will officially open May 3 to service what eventually will be 96 residents and will include a special memory care unit.

Providing personalized service for seniors, Carillon Assisted Living is designed to address the concerns and needs of the whole person. From the gracious feel of a southern country inn to the caring facility of the entire staff, residents enjoy quality living at its finest.

The new facility is number 13 for the company and will employ between 55 and 65 full and part-time personnel. Licensed by the State of North Carolina for both private and Medicaid residents, the company was founded in 1996 by Karen Moriarty, and has grown to become one of the largest providers for assisted living services in the state.

Carillon also offers an advanced program specializing in the care of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease. The Garden Place program incorporates the latest techniques known to be successful in the care of people with Alzheimer’s. Special consideration has been given to every area to ensure each resident receives the appropriate care and is able to maximize their individual quality of life.

A wide range of amenities and services are offered: Resident rooms with bay windows and full private baths, parlor with fireplace, wraparound and screened porches with Carolina Porch Rockers, private dining room for special occasions, sunrooms, country kitchens for personal cooking and activities, wellness center for health education and other care services, spa and whirlpool bath, beauty salon, resident gardens, landscaped grounds and courtyards, arbor, walking and exercise paths, media and game rooms, personal laundry area, 24-hour security with fully monitored and alarmed entrances, state-of-the-art smoke detention and sprinkler system, 24-hour Emergency Call and Care Tracking system. “At Carillon, we take pride in our home-like atmosphere where residents can live with dignity, respect and independence while still enjoying 24-hour assistance with their individual needs, including meals, medication management, quality activities and housekeeping,” said Executive Director Mark Foreman. “The design of the building, as well as the selection of furnishings, has been carefully chosen to replicate the atmosphere and era in which the residents have lived most of their lives.

Foreman emphasized Carillon’s mission is to provide quality care to seniors while seeking to enrich they’re their physical, social and emotional well being. Examples of Carillon’s 24-hour comprehensive care and services include: Assistance with activities of daily living such as eating, dressing, bathing, walking and taking medication, home health and therapy services available on site through a network of providers, daily exercise classes and walking programs to encourage mobility, present muscle loss, and combat osteoporosis, walking path and gardens for outdoor enjoyment and cardiovascular exercise, massage and whirlpool spa therapy for soothing rest, relaxation and pain relief, and respite and rehabilitation care as well as short-term stays.

Carillon’s monthly fee includes full dining, coffee, tea service and snacks available throughout the day; housekeeping; personal laundry; local transportation; utilities (except cable and phone); basic care; and a full calendar of activity, social and recreational programs.
