The program provides an easy-to-use single point of contact for the thousands of military families across the state and those volunteer groups willing and able to provide support.
"This is a great way for community groups to spend just a couple of hours and make a real difference for a military family,” said First Gentleman Eaves. “I know that there are hundreds of churches, scout troops and other service organizations that want to help. It’s what North Carolinians do – neighbors help their neighbors.”
Initially, Carolina Helping Heroes is focused on building the volunteer registry. Faith-based, service and community organizations are encouraged to visit www.carolinahelpingheroes.nc.gov and register.
