Led by Pierre Gilbert, 18, who joined the Gospel Choir in his freshman year, this year’s group started singing in September 2009.
Once an assistant director of the a cappella group, Pierre has taken this choir a long way.
They went from just singing in the classroom, to singing at Pierre’s church, where they were welcomed back for more.
Now that their name is out in the open, Pierre is hoping that there will be more doors open to invite them in. He enjoys the compliments from teachers and students who are blessed enough to hear them.
Senior Stephanie Wall has been in this choir for nearly four years, and has enjoyed every minute of it. For her, the best part of Gospel Choir is being able to do something she loves and praising God at the same time. Something she remembers most is performing at Pierre’s church.
“The feeling that you get when you do something like this, it’s just so amazing, words can’t even begin to describe it.” She said. “I did this, at first just because it was singing and I needed something to do, but now it means something more to me on a personal level. It’s more than just about singing, it’s praise and worship.”
