C3 Church in Clayton North Carolina along with many local schools and businesses joined forces with Share Our Shoes a non-profit charity in Raleigh NC to collect gentle used and new shoes for those in need in Haiti and here in our community.
This past weekend all there efforts where combined as an amazing 11,000 pairs of shoes where collected. C3 Church was the site of “BAREFOOT WEEKEND” a “Servolution” project where the congregation was encouraged to come bring their shoes and during a time in the service place the shoes they had on their feet on the alter and give them to those in need.
“It was powerful to see so many people give so unselfishly, going about and beyond is the heart of our church”, said Pastor Matt Fry lead Pastor for C3 Church. “We had first time guests who walked into C3 not knowing what we where doing, and they still gave their shoes and walked out barefoot; that’s powerful!”
Barefoot Weekend was a “Servolution Project” for C3 Church this past weekend. “Servolution” is a movement of sharing God’s love and changing people’s lives through simple acts of kindness.
With such and amazing response to “BAREFOOT WEEKEND” C3 Church has decided to continue their efforts in collecting shoes for another two weeks. On Tuesday March 30 C3 received another 750 pairs!
If you are interested in donating your gentle used or new shoes then you can bring them by C3 Church Tuesday – Friday 8:30 am till 4:30 pm; Saturday 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Sunday 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.
One pair of shoes can make such a difference in someone’s life. There are over 400 million people without shoes in the world today and there are an estimated 1.5 billion unused shoes sitting in closets nationwide.
