Sunday, March 28th brought some unconventional Sunday activities to Willow Springs Elementary School. This was the day LifePoint Community Church, a new church plant in Willow Springs, introduced itself to the community. The festivities included several inflatables and train rides provided by S&S Entertainment, Child Evangelism Fellowship’s Good News Express, and food catered by Grill ‘57 of Garner, all provided free of charge to the community. A raffle was also held giving away several gift certificates to Walmart, Home Depot, Stick Boys Bakery, Fuquay Sports, and Chick-fil-A. The purpose of the day was for LifePoint to invite those living in the Willow Springs community to learn more about the church, share its vision for ministry, and to get to know its neighbors.

Pastor Nathan Redinger and fellow members have worked tirelessly to prepare for the launch of a new church in Willow Springs. LifePoint is renting space in the school and will begin regular services at 10:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 4th. Pastor Redinger stated that the church wanted to do something for the community that would introduce the church, let them know that we were here to minister to their needs and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

LifePoint was the vision of Pastor Redinger, who previously served as Youth Pastor at Kennebec Baptist Church. He began discussing the idea of a church plant with the leadership of Kennebec Church back in 2009. Pastor Redinger stated that LifePoint Church’s vision would be a church where people gather to worship, become equipped to serve Jesus Christ, and reach the world for Christ. After much prayer, Kennebec Church overwhelmingly decided to send Pastor Redinger to start a new church, and also provided financial support. Further support was provided by the Little River Baptist Association and the North Carolina Baptist State Convention.

Pastor Redinger answered the call to minister to the Willow Springs community and in particular Willow Springs Elementary School. “School leaders have been very receptive to having a church to support the school, and there are many opportunities to help the students and their families with the struggles they face. We look forward to the great things God is planning for His church and ministry.” Pastor Redinger said.

Lifepoint Community Church’s mission is, “To point people to life in Christ so that they become mature followers of Christ.” As such, LifePoint Church will seek to bring people of all walks of life to a personal and life–changing relationship with Jesus Christ through education, ministry, counseling, discipleship, fellowship and worship.
