The Easter Bunny hops in to Fuquay-Varina on Saturday, March 27 at 10 a.m. bringing 10,000 candy and toy filled eggs and several special eggs filled with prizes.

Please plan to join us for this family-fun event. This year’s egg hunt will take place at South Park instead of where it is usually held, Fuquay Mineral Springs Park.

Crowds have swelled in recent years and the location has been changed to make the event more fun and manageable for all involved. For the past several years Mayor John Byrne and his wife Patty have welcomed egg hunters onto their lawn at Fuquay Mineral Spring Inn across the street from Fuquay Mineral Spring Park.

Thousands showed up last year and the decision was made to move the hunt to a more spacious location. Also, the date has been changed. In the past the hunt was held Easter weekend, but it is being held one week before Easter this year.

South Park is located at 900 S. Main Street just south of historic downtown Fuquay-Varina. Parking is available at South Park and the Community Center.

Parents are strongly encouraged to let their young children hunt for eggs on their own as this makes the adventure more fun for the little ones and fair to all children involved in the event.

Children up to 10 years old are welcome to participate. There will be three separate hunts for children of different ages. The hunt will start on time so please be prompt. Make sure to bring baskets.

Parents will also want to make sure to bring a camera to capture a photo of your little ones with the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Egg Hunt is sponsored by the Town of Fuquay-Varina Recreation & Parks Department.

For questions, please call (919) 552-1430. A Candy Hop will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Shoppes on Main, 212 S. Main St. As a special event characters from “Alice in Wonderland” will be on hand to visit with the kids.
