The Yates Mill Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution presented its annual Good Citizen Award to four Wake County seniors. Mary Daum chairs the Good Citizen Committee, and introduced Dana Andersen, Apex High School; Amy Barton, Cary Christian High School; Karli Gast, Holly Springs High School; and Nicole Ortega, Panther Creek High School.

These students were selected by their faculty as demonstrating the following qualities to the highest degree: Dependability (truthfulness, loyalty and punctuality), Service (cooperation, courtesy and consideration, Leadership (personality, self-control and the ability to assume responsibility, and Patriotism (unselfish interest in family, school, community and nation.

Yates Mill Chapter DAR meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cary.
