James Henry “Jimmy” Bryan, 78, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010. A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late Paul Lee Bryan, Sr. and Bettie Buffaloe Bryan. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 12 at New Bethel Baptist Church. Burial followed at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Zebulon. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Doan Starnes Bryan; daughter, Lisa Bryan Corbett and her husband, Bill of Merry Hill, N.C.; sons, Randy Bryan and his wife, Cindy of Garner and Jeffrey Bryan of Raleigh; sisters, Anne Bryan and Betty Jean Bryan both of Garner; grandchildren, Hallie Corbett, Wyatt Corbett, Lane Corbett, Kelsey Bryan, Seth Bryan and Maggie Bryan. He was predeceased by sisters, Catherine Bryan, Lottie Bryan, Mary Elizabeth Bryan and Millie Bagwell and brothers, P. L. Bryan, Wade Bryan and Bob Bryan. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 11 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel in Garner.
