A. Freeman Buffaloe, 89, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Mayview Convalescent Home. He was born at home to B. B. “Bud” Buffaloe and Bettie S. Buffaloe. He was married to Mabel McDonald Buffaloe for 61 years and raised three children and enjoyed four grandchildren. Mr. Buffaloe was a farmer and a volunteer 4-H Club leader. He was a lifelong member (77 years) at Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church, Raleigh, where he served as Deacon, Elder and Sunday School Superintendent. He received an Honorary Life Membership in the Presbyterian Women association and decades of perfect attendance Sunday School pins. He is survived by his children: Barbara Best and her husband, Ben Best of Raleigh; David and his wife, Nancy Buffaloe of Raleigh; Rev. Marie Buffaloe and her husband, Rev. Wilson Bradburn of Camp Hill, PA; grandchildren: Robert and Elizabeth Best and Aleha and Burton Buffaloe; brother, Larrie Buffaloe and his wife Minnie, Garner and sister, Minnie Tutor Holt, Garner, and sister-in-law Arleathe Buffaloe, Greensboro and brothers-in-law: Doug Williams, Garner, and Tom McDonald, Wendell and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers: Birl and Dudley and sisters: Blanche Edwards and Pattie Williams. Services were held at Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church on January 28 at 2 p.m. officiated by Dr. John Langham. Visitation with the family was at Bryan-Lee funeral home on January 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on January 28 the church from 1 to 2 p.m. and after the service.
