Fidelity Bank hosted charity drives throughout 2009 in celebration of its 100th anniversary and to support the communities it serves. Various branches chose a local charity and collected donations from customers and members of the community.
More than $16,000 in monetary donations, 4,000 pounds of food and 4,000 household, pet, and school items were donated to 36 well-deserving charities throughout North Carolina and Virginia. These donations will benefit initiatives such as providing for children in need, providing food for the homeless, funding cancer research, supporting local schools, supporting our troops and their families, and providing care for homeless pets living in animal shelters.
“We want to sincerely thank our customers and communities for their support of this worthwhile initiative,” says Mike Whitley, President and CEO of Fidelity Bank. “Given the current economic conditions, it’s more important now than ever to support our communities and those in need.”
