Angus Wilton Hair, 83, passed away at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh on Saturday, January 16, 2010. Mr. Hair was born in Cumberland County to the late Henry and Katie Bain Hair. He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Louise Polson Hair. Mr. Hair served his country in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as a Merchant Marine during WWII. He also served over 30 years in law enforcement including Chief of Police in Fuquay Varina.

Mr. Hair is survived by his wife of 13 1/2 years, Helen Carroll Hair. Children, Ann Gray, Michael Hair and wife Karla, David Hair and Connie Rhynes and husband Randy. Step-children, Randy Williford and wife Sandy and Joan Thomas and husband William. Grandchildren, Don Gray, Jason Gray, Kristin Hair, Jacob Hair, Morgan Thomas, Logan Thomas, Melissa Brock and Christy Callaghan and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 18 at Williford Funeral Home from 7 - 9 PM. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 19 at 2 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
