The Fuquay-Varina Police Department is proud to announce that Captain Bob Adams recently completed training in the Management Development Program (MDP) at the North Carolina Justice Academy. The program is comprised of 11 modules offered monthly over a period of one year at the Justice Academy’s campuses in Salemburg and Edneyville. The program is designed to teach participants how to become innovative and progressive leaders in their law enforcement agency. The students learn how to effectively manage a budget, handle media relations, motivate employees, handle critical incident command and gather and analyze information.

The admission process into this program is competitive. More than 50 people applied for the program and only 18 were chosen to participate. Captain Adams was one of these 18 persons chosen and he graduated from MDP Class 21 on November 20 at a ceremony at Sampson community College.

Captain Adams has been employed with the Fuquay-Varina Police Department for 16 years. He is currently the Commander of the Investigative and Administrative Division, a position he assumed at the first of this year. He had previously been the Commander of the Patrol Division, a position he had held since January, 2006.

In 2009, Captain Adams earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University. Captain Adams resides in Fuquay-Varina with his wife, Debra and his sons Robby and Sam.
