The town board last week made made appointments to fill vacancies on the planning and zoning board and the board of adjustment. Persons who had expressed interest in the positions were interviewed at a Dec. 22 meeting.
Josh Tate was named an in-town member of the planning board. W. E . Medlin and Linda Johnson were named to the planning board representing the Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) just outside the town limits. Ms. Johnson has been serving on the Board of Adjustment, but was moved to the Planning Board.
Phyllis Hager was named to an ETJ seat on the board of adjustment; however, that board still has two vacancies, one for an in-town regular member (the seat left vacant by Ms. Johnson’s move to the Planning Board) and one for an alternate ETJ member. The town will advertise once again for eligible persons who would be interested in those positions.
ETJ members appointed by the mayor and local board must be approved by the Wake County Board of Commissioners.
