Sarah Jenice Turner, 86, of Lillington died Thursday, December 24, 2009. Born in Harnett County, June 2, 1923, she now joins her parents, Lonnie and Sarah (Sissy) Williams Turner in Heaven. Preceding her in death also were sisters, Iola T. Talley and Rachel T. Hill. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who was known for her sweet and loving spirit and will be greatly missed. She was a faithful member of Buies Creek First Baptist Church and particularly enjoyed being with her friends in the Special Adult Sunday School Class. The family wishes to thank the staff and management of Brookfield Retirement Center for their loving care and support for many years.

Survivors included sisters Madeline T. Holloman of King William, Va., Ruby T. Harris and Evelyn T. Ferguson both of Tampa, Fla., Gilda T. Blackmon of Coats and Carolyn T. Johnson of Lillington, brother A.L. (Bud) Turner of Raleigh, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Monday, December 28 at 2 p.m. at Buies Creek First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Simmons officiating. Burial took place at Coats City Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of Douglas and Carolyn T. Johnson. Memorials may be made to the Buies Creek First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 160, Buies Creek, NC 27506.
