Other imaginative entries included a stained glass angel that holds recipe cards in her halo by Anne Pilgrim, a coffee angel make of plaster by Rocky Alexander, an American Indian angel done in watercolor on canvas by Luz Frye, colorful kitchen angel placemats by Lynne Wogan, a fabric angel creation by Ana Sumner, a snowman angel with a painted recipe on wood by Alice Rogers and an acrylic painting of an angel cook by Cheryl Sandy.
Visitors to the open house enjoyed sampling heavenly goodies, including angel food cake and homemade whipped cream. Demonstrations were given by artists from around the Triangle. Fuquay-Varina artist Rocky Alexander presented an oil painting demo using a palette knife and Julie Nauman of Cary showed how to make chocolate truffles. Cary artist Lynne Fischer shared clay sculpture techniques and Durham artist Paula MacLeod gave a step-by-step overview of creating mosaics.
