A group of citizens including the Fuquay Springs Questers, the Centennial Commission and its Repository committee have organized a 501 (c) 3 to work toward supporting the museums of Fuquay-Varina. Elected to head this group are: President, Larry Bennett; Vice President, Max Ashworth; Secretary, Orlean Newton; Treasurer, Brenda Johnson; At-large, Eleanor Stephenson and W. E. Medlin. They along with Town Commissioner, Charlie Adcock, will comprise the Board of Directors. The public should expect to hear publicity on a January meeting at which memberships will begin to be solicited. The permanence of the museums will be ensured by this group and expansion and growth led. A volunteer staff of interested persons, docents and Questers will be working with the town buiiding representatives and the Parks and Recreation director to maintain the museums and conduct a public schedule. Tours by appointment can be arranged by calling Shirley Simmons (552-5562). Two public dates have been planned for the second Saturdays of November and December.
