The Fuquay-Varina Community Dance Academy at the Community Center is partnering with the F-V Emergency Food Pantry on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Fuquay-Varina Community Center, 820 S. Main St. They will present a Thanksgiving Dance Showcase, for the purpose of collecting food for the food pantry. Instead of charging a ticket price, they are asking the community to bring canned food. The Community Dance Academy believes that every person is special and needs to be encouraged to try new things in a non-competitive, fun and loving environment. The CDA exists to facilitate such an environment through the world of dance. Their desire is to bring the joy of dance to children, teens and adults in our community.
The November event will showcase the students’ achievements and facilitate a community outreach. The dancers will extend an invitation to their family, friends and the community of Fuquay-Varina to enjoy an evening of dance.
CDA’s central purpose is to impact lives and build strong community through the art of dance. They accomplish this by encouraging the dancers to “give back” to the community using their talents.
