Beginning Monday, October 26, the Antique Automobile Club of America’s 2009 AACA Vintage Tour will begin in Fuquay-Varina. The Brass-Nickel Touring Region will be hosting 71 antique automobiles from twenty-two states. Each day the tourists will drive their vintage automobiles approximately 100 miles.

Fuquay-Varina will be the hub of this week long event. All cars have been restored to their factory original condition. The cars range in age from 1912 to 1931 and include such rare makes as Pullman, Stanley Steamer, Essex, Packard, Franklin, Peerless, Hudson and Oakland. Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, Plymouth and Chrysler are also represented in the lineup.

The cars will travel in small groups to keep traffic flowing and will be using all secondary roads.

The only planned public display will be Wednesday evening, October 28, from approximately 5:00 to 7:00PM on the main street of Fuquay-Varina. The Town will close the street to vehicle traffic to facilitate pedestrians viewing the cars. The Town of Fuquay-Varina is planning special activities to highlight the tour as well as the 100th anniversary of the founding of Fuquay-Varina. Everyone is invited to enjoy looking at the cars and talking with the owners.
