Soccer team remains undefeated

The FVHS Men's Varsity soccer team remained undefeated tonight with a 2-0 win over Holly Springs High School. The first half ended scoreless with both teams coming close to scoring but showing strong defenses. In the second half the Bengals played virtually the entire half a man down due to a penalty with a red card. Midfielder David Sizemore finally broke the 0-0 tie and scored the first goal for the Bengals in the 15th minute and was up 1-0.

In the 6th minute of the second half striker Bret Nelson scored the second goal to make it 2-0 Fuquay.

The Bengals defense, led by Tri Captains Tanner Laughridge and Deshay Thomas, along with Cole Schwietering and Jonathan Furr came up big all night and kept the Golden Hawks offense scoreless.

Goalies Elias Bender and Adam Sedivy made saves all night and alonge with the defense have kept the goals allowed at 6 in the last 8 games. At this time the 8-0 Bengals are ranked # 6 in the State among 4-A high schools. The next game for the Beng als is this Wednesday night at Green Hope High School.
