WILLOW SPRING – Ruby McLean Saunders, 90, passed away at her home on Wednesday. A native of Wake County she was the daughter of the late Pearly Otha and Lalion McLean. She was a homemaker, a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother “Mama Ruby”, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.



Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.



Mrs. Saunders is survived by her husband of 68 years, A. E. “Earl” Saunders, daughters, Linda S. Blackwelder and husband, Scott and Deborah S. West and husband, David, all of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Melanie Howard Ernst and husband, Buck of Comer, Ga; Kristie Bullock Akins and husband, Bill of Fuquay-Varina; Felecia Howard Hipp and husband, Greg of Fuquay-Varina; Paul Larry Saunders, Jr. of Raleigh; and Jim Bullock of Fuquay-Varina; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Tucker of Fort Pierce, Fl; and brother, Edward McLean of Cleveland, Ga.



Mrs. Saunders was predeceased by her son, Paul L. Saunders, sisters, Ruth Clayton, Lora Blalock, Lillian Dail, and Erith Phillips, brothers, Kelly McLean, Ralph McLean, Charles Ray McLean, Linwood McLean and Otha McLean, Jr.



The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday night at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and at other times at the home.
