Seeking great chili cooks! The Fuquay-Varina Revitalization Association is calling all chili cooks for the 7th Annual Downtown Chili Cook-off on Saturday, October 31 from 10:30 am – 3:30 pm. The event will be held during the Day in Downtown Festival. Individuals, businesses and non-profit groups are invited to show off their cooking skills and compete to see who has the best tasting chili in Fuquay-Varina. This is a great opportunity for organizations and businesses to get out in the community and gain visibility. ...And winning the top prize could boost your bottom line by $500!
Awards will be voted on by the public. The cook/team with the most votes will win the 1st place prize which is $500. Second and third place winners will receive $300 and $150 respectively. All winners will be given a 2008 Downtown Chili Cook-off trophy.
If you’re up to the cooking challenge, learn how to enter the contest by downloading the 2009 Downtown Chili Cook-off Rules and Entry Form at www.Fuquay-VarinaDowntown.com or pick one up at the FVRA at 116 Raleigh Street in Fuquay-Varina. Applications are also available at the FV Chamber at 121 N. Main Street. The entry fee is $20 and applications are due no later than October 22 at 5:00 pm.
If you’re not a cook, but you love to eat chili, come on down to the Downtown Chili Cook-off on Saturday, October 31st from 10:30 am – 3:30 pm and taste, taste, taste!! You can taste all the chili entries for $5.00. We'll be located in the large parking lot on Main Street near Cooley's Restaurant. This event is part of the Day in Downtown Festival located in Historic Downtown Fuquay-Varina.
