As the new owner of Jason's Pizza in Fuquay, the restaurant is earning rave reviews among the locals. Stepping into his restaurant sort of feels like walking into an old friend's home, one who really knows how to make the perfect pizza.
This old-school pizza chef knows a thing or two about pies as he's owned and managed several restaurants since moving to the United States. He is assisted in his efforts with his daughter, Tanya.
Gourmet pizzas are the order of the day with the father-daughter team, and the scrumptious pies boast of dough and sauce made fresh from scratch daily, along with your choice of at least a dozen toppings.
In addition to the traditional style pizzas, Hajieh has a couple of favorites including the double-decker and the stuffed pizza.
"I haven't seen the double-decker in this area," he said. "People love it!"
As far as the stuffed pizza, it isn't the norm. Hajieh said the entire pizza is stuffed and covered with crust. It's then sliced into a pie. How's that for mouth-watering temptation?
Almost every country has its own favorites, and in Greece that tribute just might go to the gyro, pronounced yeer-oh, as Hajieh said. The wrap consists of lamb and beef meat, Greek tzatziki sauce topped with lettuce, tomato and black olives.
Jason's also offers calzones, made from fresh pizza dough and stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella cheese with two toppings of your choice.
Other specialties include a wide variety of pastas, hot and cold subs, salads, stromboli, buffalo wings and various garlic breads.
Located in the Fuquay-Varina Shopping Center on North Main Street, the pizzeria is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, open until 11 p.m. on Saturday, and until 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
