My daughter has hit a recent growth spurt and I have found myself looking for summer shorts to fit my child.

One of the things I did to save money was to keep her wardrobe simple. When shopping for summer shorts, I found a sale on skorts. I kept my purchases simple. I purchased the skorts in black, navy and khaki. These are the only shorts she has for summer. The skorts did not have any patterns and were simple in design.

The reason I purchased shorts with no patterns is because it did not limit what could be worn with them. The three colored skorts matched the wide array of t-shirts that she had in her closets. By adding the different shirts it gives the shorts a whole new look, but you do not have to own a large selection.

As many of you know, I also like to wash a load of laundry a day. Remember to wash your clothing in cold in another effort to save money. By keeping on top of my wash, I also do not have to purchase a lot of skorts because she does not need them.

However, that was not the only success I had in savings this week. Because of my daughter’s recent growth spurt, I found myself looking for pajamas for her as well. I remind readers that this is a great time of year to start looking for winter pajamas and clothing items for next year. I was able to purchase my daughter a pair of pajamas for next winter in the clearance rack at a major retail chain for $2.
