Letter to the Editor: Ammunition article informative, but lacking

Dear Editor,

Fred Bonner’s recent article “Where’s the ammunition?” was quite informative. It clarified for me why almost every day, even on Sundays I see groups of adults congregated outside one of the local gun stores waiting for the store to open.

I learned about different types of guns and the jargon used among gun aficionados. He explained the extreme shortage of available firearms and ammunition for purchase.

My only concern was that the last paragraph omitted several names that also contributed to the promotion of gun ownership better than the NRA could ever have done. Wade Michael Page (Wisconsin Sikh Temple shooting), Jared Lee Lougher (Tucson shopping center shooting), James Egan Holmes (Aurora, Co. movie theatre shooting) and Adam Lanza (Sandy Hook Elementary shooting).

I’m sure it was just an oversight.

I hope my response will be published on the opinion page, which is where Mr. Bonner’s comments belonged.

Emily Holloway
