Arrests made in credit union robbery

The Fuquay-Varina Police are continuing their investigation of a robbery that occurred at 4:55 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28. The robbery was at 404 Old Honeycutt Road (N.C. State Employees Credit Union) in Fuquay-Varina.

According to the Fuquay-Varina Public Information Officer, Susan Weis, on March 2, at approximately 1:25 a.m., law enforcement officers located Brandon Phillip Williams and Bryce Bonilla at the Econolodge on Mechanical Drive in Garner. Both persons were taken into custody.

Williams was charged with the armed robbery of the State Employees Credit Union.

Both persons were also charged with Possession of Heroin, Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances, Misd. Possession of Marijuana and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Williams and Bonilla were booked into the Wake County Jail and they will each have a first appearance hearing on Monday.

A weapon and an undisclosed amount of money was recovered and seized from the hotel room. This case remains under investigation while additional leads and others associated with this crime are investigated.
