Pvt. Roger A. Aguilar

Army Pvt. Roger A. Aguilar has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.

Aguilar is the son of Nolvia Anariba of Ashewyck Commons Court in Fuquay-Varina.

He is a 2012 graduate of Fuquay-Varina High School.

Airman Lashonda I. Collins

Air Force Airman Lashonda I. Collins graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Collins is the daughter of Debra and Lee Collins of Karen Drive in Willow Springs.

She is a 2012 graduate of Fuquay-Varina High School.
