The Professional Women’s Leadership Association (PWLA) of the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce will sponsor military business scholarships this year in addition to those awarded to Fuquay-Varina High School females.
The scholarships will be awarded to a graduating female whose mother or father is currently serving on active duty, active reserves or an honorably discharged veteran from the U.S. Armed Forces. The $1,000 scholarship will go to a female who has been accepted to a four-year accredited institution of higher learning and is seeking to obtain a degree in some facet of business. The same criteria apply to the $500 scholarship but this recipient must have been accepted into a two-year program.
The closing date for applications is April 30. Applications can be picked up at the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce, Fuquay-Varina High School Student Services or the Military Missions in Action office.
