A Fuquay-Varina and Willow Springs man were killed in a single car accident early in the morning of Nov. 27. According to officials with the N.C. State Highway Patrol, the car they were traveling in caught on fire as a result of the accident.

Jeffrey Stiltman, 22, of Fuquay-Varina was driving south on Angier Road when his car ran off the right side of the road, struck several trees, a street sign and a utility pole. After hitting the pole, the vehicle burst into flames. The accident occurred at 3:02 a.m. Stiltman and his passenger, Michael Stephen Migliore, of Willow Springs were killed in the accident.

Their bodies were so badly burned it was difficult for emergency officials to identify who the men were, Highway Patrol officials said.

Speed was believed to be a factor in the accident.
