Holly Springs resident Ashley Lindsay signed her National Letter of Intent on Nov. 20 during the early signing period to play softball for Coach Merritt Yackey at Lees-McRae College in 2013. The NCAA Division II college is located in Banner Elk, N.C.

Coach Yackey states, “We are excited to have Ashley join our program.”

Ashley, a senior, currently plays softball for Fuquay-Varina High School and travel ball for Team TFS 18U. A utility player, she plays shortstop and second base and also plays outfield.

Parents Steve and Wendy Lindsay note that they are particularly proud that Ashley has overcome many obstacles to achieve her long-time dream of playing college softball. She is very much looking forward to the college experience at LMC, both academically and athletically.
