Board creates the 50/50 Plan aimed to dedicate 50 percent of resources to strengthening existing Fuquay businesses and 50 percent to attracting outside business to the community.

The Fuquay-Varina Economic Development Commission, Inc., (FVEDC) is rolling out a plan to assist existing businesses while also attracting private investment into the community. The 50/50 Plan will work with members of the community to improve existing businesses by providing education, resources and enhanced communication while simultaneously demonstrating to outside investors that Fuquay-Varina is a viable community for their business’s next investment.

As part of the FVEDC’s overall strategy to develop and create economic development opportunities for the Town, the FVEDC has been focusing many of its efforts on identifying resources and economic partners necessary to help drive its economic development agenda. The 50/50 Plan will focus on strengthening the resources of Fuquay-Varina’s workforce and marketing potential to leverage private investment into the community while growing the Town’s existing industry.

“The 50/50 Plan will be important to our community,” stated FVEDC Chairman Tim Lucas. “As we continue to develop the 50/50 Plan, we will rely on members of Fuquay-Varina’s business community to help us shape the agenda and promote our already dedicated workforce, services, amenities and quality of life to encourage outside investment.”

The 50/50 Plan has established committees to identify workforce development needs, financial requisites and securing additional resources necessary to expand the business community.
