A new music school will be opening its doors in Fuquay Varina this fall. The Latham School of Music will offer lessons in all areas of musical interest. In addition to musical instruments, The Latham School of Music will also offer voice lessons which will include a variety of styles ranging from classical to country.

The school’s founder, Mr. Paul King Latham is a resonant Baritone born in Dayton Ohio– breed in Aniston Alabama with an extraordinary love and passion for song birthed in him by his mother and father at a very early age. Mr. Paul started performing by the age of 6 within his church and anywhere else he could get the chance to dance, sing, and play the piano. He had the privilege of studying under the influences of Marylyn Parrish, and the late Robert Neal.

Latham attended Central State University where he studied voice under the instruction of Professor William Henry Caldwell, and under the instruction of Eunice Thompson. His voice is often compared to R&B, Gospel, Jazz and spiritual greats such as Luther Vandross, Will Downing, Fred Hammond, Reverend James Cleveland. Today he is prepped and ready for whatever the industry has to offer, taking every step with the guidance of the Lord, remaining focused at all times.

Latham has worked as a Music Educator and Curriculum Developer in Dayton, Ohio at The Resurrection Catholic School, The Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, The City Day Community School, Richard Allen Elementary School, and at The Saint Joseph Treatment Center. His expertise also includes serving as a Music Therapy Group Teacher in The Cincinnati Public Schools, Toledo Public Schools and The Chicago Public Schools System. His experiences includes working with The Dayton Bach Society, The Harlem Boys Choir, The Indiana Hoosier Choir, The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and The Boston Pops Orchestra.

“I am honored and consider it a privilege to be able to provide a quality program of this magnitude to the students of in this area. There is a growing demand for music as an outlet for students as well as a value career option. I look forward to challenging students on all levels of instruments and serving as a vocal coach,” Latham said.

The Latham School of Music is currently enrolling students to begin in October and can be reached by call Mr Latham at 919-601-2486 or email lathamschoolofmusic@gmail.com.
