A day after Stephens Hardware closed its doors for good, new tenants began setting up shop in the Stephens building on Broad Street preparing to do their share for Obama’s grassroots reelection campaign. Cameron French, who is working with the campaign, said a formal ribbon cutting will be held soon. He said about 40 field offices like the one in Fuquay-Varina will be opened across the state. The campaign leased the Stephens building for 90 days. Workers from the site will be knocking on doors and doing phone calling in the coming weeks. Voter registration will also be available at the site.
