Wake Forest - Emma Jane Ball Young, 75, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed the service at the Cokesbury Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Young was predeceased by her husband, Richard W. Young; parents, Percy Willard and Susie Lee Ball; three brothers, Harry L Ball, Homer Ray Ball, and Willard Ball.

She was retired from Teachers Certification in the NC Education Department with 25 years of service. She was a long time resident of Fuquay-Varina. The last few years she resided at The Lodge of Wake Forest.

Mrs. Young is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Young Benvie and husband, Dan of Wake Forest; her son, Robert Walter Young and wife, Cindy of Fuquay-Varina; three grandchildren, Joshua Morgan Young, Elyse Nicole Tilley, and Alyson Brooke Tilley; sisters, Shirley B. Royal of Pittsboro and Linda B. Wicker of Sanford; brothers, JW Ball of Raleigh, Percy Len Ball of Raleigh, and Roy A. Ball of VA.

The family received friends on Thursday, July 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina.
