Vickie Pegram Pridgen, 52, of Carolina Beach died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at home.

She was born on March 7, 1960 in Fuquay-Varina the daughter of Ann Pegram and the late L.V. Pegram.

In addition to her mother Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 14 years Larry Pridgen; their three children Brian James Pridgen, Emmitt James Pridgen and Addie Lou Pridgen; brother Don Pegram (Mary Ann) and their children David Pegram and Mary Katherine Pegram, an uncle and several special aunts, nieces and nephews.

Vickie served as a Ready Man instructor at Camp McNeil, Scout Leader Troop 230, Secretary and Cub Scout Leader Pack 230, volunteer and PTO co-president Carolina Beach School, Girl Scout Leader Troop 1204, First Baptist Church of Carolina Beach VBS Director, ARC Leader Children’s Church and Team Kids Leader. Vickie was a teacher at Cape Fear Community College and worked at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Dozier Hospital as a PRN. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 8, at First Baptist Church Carolina Beach with Pastor Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial followed at Seagate Cemetery. A visitation was held Thursday, June 7, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Carolina Beach for Troop 230 Attn: Wendy Vincent 409 N.
