Camp Agapé , located at 1369 Tyler Dewar Lane, Fuquay-Varina, provides local residents with 624 acres of rolling hills, streams, and diverse forests. The camp also provides its customers with a volleyball and basketball court, fishing, summer camp programs for children, recreation fields, 12-miles of hiking, a swimming pool, a picnic pavilion, an environmental educational learning center, a campground, nature activities and group-building and challenge course activities.

The camp, which has been open to the public since 1974, provides people with a unique secluded setting that allows for spiritual renewal, meditation, group-building, and planning.

As a camp and conference center, Camp Agapé is open to all people for retreats, team building, and day meetings. Camp Agapé also runs resident summer camp programs from June to the first of August each year.

However the fun does not stop there. The Agapé Center for Environmental Education offers field trips and overnight events to public, private and home schools in addition to Saturday Safaris. The Safaris are day events for groups, birthday parties, youth groups, environmental groups and more.

In June through August, Camp Agapé officials run resident summer camp programs.

Every May, Camp Agapé officials holds an Open House.

“Open House is a time for folks to come out and tour our facilities and to sample summer camp activities like canoeing, zip-lining and archery to name a few,” Camp Agapé official Penny Wiard said.

During Mother’s Day weekend, Camp Agapé officials host a Mother Daughter Retreat.

“This past year our guests spent quality time together making cupcakes, riding the zip-line, canoeing, and making a special craft,” Wiard said about the Mother’s Day weekend.

In November, the camp offers a Hike-a-thon and Basket Raffle.

“Hikers spend the morning walking the trails of Agapé to raise money for ACE Education. A breakfast of bagels, donuts, coffee and juice as well as a delicious lunch is provided free of charge. Registration and $25 raised in donations required.”

The fun does not stop there.

In December, the camp offers O’ Holy Night.

“O’ Holy Night is an evening of light food and fellowship followed by a special walk and worship under the stars at our Lakeside Chapel. It is a ‘Holy Night’ filled with Christmas carols, Christmas lights, and the Christmas story.”
