FUQUAY-VARINA – Fay Walters Collins, 89, died May 9, 2013. A short term illness took her from us, but now she is among the angels. She loved Bethel Church, ClubWorx and worked at WalMart in Fuquay until the age of 85. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Amanda Lin Brown Cartee, 29, wife of Joey Mathew Cartee, of Spring Lake, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Spring Hill United Methodist Church. Burial was at 10 a.m. in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Elder R. L. Fish, 83 of Fuquay-Varina died on Friday, April 19, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Wake County, he was born on April 9, 1930, to the late Robert Lee Fish, Sr. and Sallie Moore Fish. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict.
