Fuquay-Varina Parks and Recreation Director Woody Harvey will retire on May 31 after six years with the Town of Fuquay-Varina. With more than 28 years of experience in Parks and Recreation, his dedicated service and expertise will be missed in Fuquay-Varina.
Harvey has been instrumental in the growth of the Town’s park system, in expanding the recreational programs offered by the Town, increasing the quality and profile of Town festivals and introducing a Youth Sports Program run by the Town of Fuquay-Varina.
According to town manager Jon Barlow, “Woody is responsible for bringing the Town’s Parks and Recreation into the 21st Century and we are forever grateful for his vision and service.”
Woody’s retirement plans include moving to High Rock Lake, N.C., in Davidson County and working at C. Ray Floral Designs, a family-business in Lexington.
