Are you looking to get your children involved in sports? Look no further than the Fuquay-Varina Parks & Recreation youth sports program. Registration for the inaugural season of winter sports at Parks & Recreation is going very well. The only thing missing is you!

Registration for basketball, skills and drills (6 co-ed) and dance troupe are ongoing through October 13 at 5 pm. The league a child will play in is determined by their age as of October 15. Six different leagues are planned and evaluations for 8U thru 18U have been scheduled for early November. Pre-season basketball practice begins November 13 and will be held Monday-Saturday with in-season practices to be held Monday-Thursday. Regular season games begin December 8 and will be played Friday and Saturday. Each league (except for 6 co-ed) will play a single elimination tournament which will take place at the end of the regular season. Both games and practices will be held at the Community Center and Council Gym. Dance troupe will practice weekly and perform dance routines at designated basketball games.

The cost to participate is $40/sport for in-town residents; and $65/sport for non-residents. There is no association fee or fundraising. Financial assistance is available for residents and non-residents.

There’s more than one way to sign-up! Download a form at www.fvparks.org, complete and return it to the Community Center located at 820 S. Main Street or try our new online registration at www.fvparks.org. If you’re a last minute person, remember that the Community Center is open from 8 am – 5 pm on the last day of registration which is Saturday, October 13.

We invite everyone to be a part of this exciting first season! From Town Commissioners to Town staff, we all look forward to working with players and coaches to make the Fuquay-Varina Parks & Recreation youth recreational leagues a real success that reflects the needs of our growing community.
