The award ceremony took place during the NCFB’s 77th Annual Meeting, Dec. 2 to 4, at the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center, Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons.
“The mission of North Carolina Farm Bureau is to improve the quality of life for farmers and rural families,” said Larry Wooten, president of NCFB. “The accomplishments of the Wake County Farm Bureau Women’s Program have helped area communities and assisted Farm Bureau in fulfilling this important goal.”
Wake County Farm Bureau committee members were involved in numerous humanitarian and educational initiatives and activities during 2012, including several area career fairs, Farm City Day, a mobile book barn, Ag in the Classroom events and Food Check Out week activities. Volunteers have visited the Fuquay-Varina Community Library on several occasions and actively work with the Fuquay-Varina High School FFA Chapter.
The Wake County Farm Bureau is a nonprofit organization devoted to protecting farmers and ensuring the continued success of agriculture in our county, state and nation through lobbying, education, special programs and scholarships.
