Gardner-Webb University is proud to announce that Teresa D. Johnson was recently honored with the Dr. A. Frank Bonner MBA (Master of Business Administration) Academic Excellence Award at the University’s Godbold School of Business Hooding Ceremony. A native of Bladen County, N.C., Johnson currently resides in Fuquay-Varina, N.C.
Named for Gardner-Webb President Dr. A. Frank Bonner, the award recognizes the student who maintains the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) while obtaining the MBA. Johnson earned a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA.
“I am honored and humbled to be recognized with such a prestigious award,” Johnson said. A full-time professional and mother of four, Johnson praised Gardner-Webb’s MBA program for its flexibility, and for the University’s “amazing team of professors who support their students.”
As the managing director for the National Adult Day Services Association, Johnson said her MBA experience at Gardner-Webb has been helpful as she works to expand that organization to include an international network of adult day services providers.
“Thanks to my education at Gardner-Webb,” Johnson said, “new doors are opening so that I can help address, and favorably shape, the social and economic implications of healthcare worldwide through adult day services.”
Gardner-Webb, a private Christian, Baptist-related University, offers a comprehensive academic experience that introduces undergraduate and graduate students to the diverse world of ideas and to the people who think them, equipping them for lives marked by empathy, compassion and a commitment to service on the broadest scale.
